In "The Sage" it mentions how we all have a sense of selfness in which we think about ourselves. I think this is definitely true because sometimes we can be overly selfish and other times we're just thinking about ourselves in a good way, not so much selfishly.

It's interesting to me how once people meet their gurus they completely change. In the case of Sawan Singh's life it says "it was the turning point when he met his spiritual guru."
